My secret on how the defend your pc

Introduction

This is my first article on hubpage, i hope this can be useful for everyone, Nowadays; internet is going to be more dangerous and dangerous because all of these virus, mal-ware, spy-ware, and any-ware. Just by 1 minute online, >20 of these things already attack my computer. Can u imagine what is really going on here? Well, all of these was pioneered by non-responsible kind of guy or company that thing only themselves, sometimes they did it without a clear purpose. Anyway as an internet user we have to be prepared against all these, put on all of our war gear and surf. Sometimes, these war gear was too heavy or unbalance that make us drown or fall during surfing. I will share my little secret to everyone in most delightful way 'advising' this is not an 'advertisement'. i have been running with these stuff for more than a year and its give me a nice and pleasure way of surfing the net. I have also compared all of these programs with its competitor, and my result (ofcourse will be subjective) Anyway if u have some security problem about ur pc, u can follow my advise, or if u are someone that would like to try something new and might be better, ,u can do as u please.

My antivirus

There is a bunch of anti virus out there, every one of them has their on strength and weakness, this the criteria that I make based on my observation of anti-virus software:

- Range of protection

Some anti-virus just will protect u from virus, some other includes malware protection, some other, and usually come in a package will protect u from everything. The question is, are they really protecting u from everything? They just said that they will protect u from everything. I prefer an anti virus that really well at their job, ‘the viruses’.

- System load

There are many good anti-viruses but they just too heavy for my PC, they do everything – every time, I know we need a good antivirus, but can u imagine the burden it will cause to PC’s performance? Come on, if u love ur PC, u will always want it run at max an at ease.

- User friendly

OK, here is the thing. We have a good antivirus, we just don’t know how to use it. We confuse, and the result is its not running at optimum performance. What is happening here? They think everyone is as expert as them, or at least can ‘understand their language’, we live in a variety of work, environment, language, etc. If they really want their antivirus used by everyone, they have to ‘understand’ us, make us their priority.

- Updating

Anti-virus provide updating (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly), the fastest the update is the better, once I used weekly updating antivirus, and guess what? I got attacked by virus twice between the update, I try to ask for peer and technical support, and their reason is ur anti-virus is not update. Come on!

- Strength

How strong ur antivirus can protect u. a heavy system load antivirus does not guarantee u to have a strongest virus protection, its not how heavy is it, it just how ‘smart’ they counter attack the virus. After trying many product of antivirus, I conclude that avast is not the strongest antivirus, but it smart! Some virus will attack ur pc before ur computer starting to boot, avast have boot-time scan feature that will scan before the computer boot. See what I mean smart here. It’s a waste of time to load all that stuff after booting, cause the virus already act and prepare for the counter-attack, why don’t we attack them off-guard?

Well, the result of my observation shows that overall avast is fulfilling all the criteria here at balance. I tried 7 other top rated antivirus program, but still ‘overall’ they can’t beat avast. And the best part is its free of charge for personal use. I put some snapshot of avast user-friendly view and it's easy updating, update anytime and every time u want. Anyway avast still have some ‘hole’ for the virus to attack, but wait! I haven’t finish yet, we can cover this hole and make it better.

My Firewall

OK, its time to cover up some 'hole' here. Once I used this kerio firewall and its crashes, I stop using it and change to others. Although, one of my friend, which is also an IT lover suggest me to change my firewall to the newest kerio, well... I tell u something about me, I’m quite stubborn, rather than following my friend advice, I insist of trying many other firewall, well that’s me. After tried a lot of firewall wall, I summarize them, compare them, using them one by one, in fact many of them crashes with my system, some of them block my messenger, some other block internet, perfect! This exactly what I need. A hard slap on the face, I change back to kerio, this time a little difference, I deactivate them at first and only activate them when im surfing.

Guess what happen, now I know that my pc is doing and being done by many programs that I never saw before…, its stun me for a while, but well its time for improvement, there approximately 27 processes that is not suppose to be there (how I know its not suppose to be there? Well if u an IT lover, u ill knows). Im using advance mode though (if u are not used to this kind of thing, I suggest u not to choose advance mode, just pick simple mode, it provide ‘enough’ security). But, if u people like me, that is not afraid of taking the risk, choose advance mode! u will know more, u will secure more, but of course u will fail more.

Another thing that I like about this firewall is, its not only protecting External connection but also ur internal connection. What I mean by internal here, is any software u launch that will effect the system, in ANY way. In the intrusion menu there is even an option that it will ask ur permission before running any program. This comes the best part, viruses done almost same thing like ur secure or known program, it needs to change the system, otherwise its nothing. This time u can bust them out, even before the antivirus detecting them. Then why need Antivirus? Well, little bad news here, its not the only way a viruses can attack!

My Spybot

Well, there is still another ‘hole’ to cover though. It’s the spyware and the malware. Actually there is a lot of choice u make in this spyware and malware protection. One of the best is this ‘spybot - search and destroy’ why? Yeah, search and destroy is the only action a spyware and a malware deserve on my PC, “u enter here without permission, now get the hell outta here!!!”, yeah that’s what I wanna say to them. And, its not only the word but also the action. After knowing 27 processes that is not suppose to run, my spybot can even detect 31 of processes that not suppose to run. One thing I like this spybot is a smart one too, when they cannot delete a spyware or malware it didn’t force it, because they are in the system memory that can cause ur PC to crash if u force them, It asks permission to do pre-boot scan, in which time ur memory hasn’t being loaded by those nasty thing, after they were deleted, u can immunize ur system by using immunize option provided in the program. and if u r also activating its registry blocker, any change of windows registry will be asked for permission, including times when viruses want to change ur registry.

Well, im not really an expert in this thing, i just love IT so much. I name this secret, triad secret, i have been using it for a long time and im happy about it, noo trouble, no mess, nothing. Now, i just want to share this secret with u. Its ok if u also have another triad secret, do as u please. All of these programs are free of charge for personal use, even though some registration needed.this advise is basiccally a pure try and error result, but hey! u can skip may error and save ur time in picking protection software. No worry, im a very open minded type of guy, say anything u like (critics, advise, comments, etc) i will happy to read and respond to them, "improve others, improve urself".
